Kindergarten

The Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) recognises that effective teaching is based on strong relationships with each child and their family and that learning happens in the context of each child's relationships and community; When children feel safe and secure, empowered to take risks, they can really take advantage of all available learning opportunities. Similarly, when we understand each child's unique development, family and cultural context we are able to tailor the environment and our teaching strategies to best meet their needs.
By providing funded kindergarten programs, we are able to continue to build upon established relationships and understandings of each individual child and they, in turn, benefit from all the positives of our multi age grouping:- the opportunities to provide leadership and support to younger peers, the chance to learn and grow at their own pace, the cross pollination of ideas as part of our interesting and the complex learning environment.
All of which serves to strengthen their sense of confidence and wellbeing.

Out & About

The kindergarten programs also enable us to further enrich children's development, learning and sense of
self by regularly taking them out into the world, thereby fostering resilience and establishing ongoing
relationships with our local community, providing rich and
varied learning opportunities; enabling the
children to connect and contribute.
T
he Kinder program runs every Monday & Tuesday for Yellow (3YO) Kinder and  Wednesday & Friday for Red (4YO) Kinder, throughout the year.
Tuesdays, the Yellow Kindergarten group ventures out to our local community. Wednesdays, the Red Kindergarten group head out to explore our local and wider community..............

KinderArt

Red Kinder Art happens on Friday afternoons and is a time much loved by all. We - children and teachers - sit down together and spend some quiet time together- we listen to music, but talking is kept to an absolute minimum - it's about being present with ourselves and each other and seeing where the art takes us..
